This cosy stone-built end-terrace cottage is situated in the small farming community of Lunds and is superbly placed for enjoying exhilarating walking on the high fells of Upper Wensleydale. The surrounding countryside is dotted with traditional whitewashed farmsteads and is famous for being along the route of the Settle to Carlisle Railway as it climbs steadily towards Aisgill summit.
Visitors may be lucky enough to see steam trains, as the line is only a field away from the cottage! The accommodation is upside down to take advantage of the extensive views, and many footpaths lead from the door. The owners live in the adjacent farmhouse. There is also a tea room within a mile, making this an ideal retreat for a stay in spectacular countryside.

The delightful market town of Hawes is the highest settlement in Wensleydale and home to the delicious Wensleydale cheese. The town is also famous for rope making; a skill passed down through the generations and a fascination for many of the visitors that come to the town. A regular market is held on a Tuesday and Hawes has many excellent shops and eateries in its midst.
The beautiful limestone countryside surrounding the town provides a huge variety of walks and other outdoor pursuits, and for sightseeing opportunities the area is unsurpassed with the spectacular Hardraw Force and the Aysgarth falls just two of the natural wonders to be seen. Hawes is a delightful town and makes a superb base for a holiday in this magnificent area.
