The historic City of York has plenty of top class attractions and activities to keep everyone of all ages entertained and occupied. Just to wander around the city and take in the different architectural styles is a feast for the eyes, and the magnificent Minster has a long and colourful history dating back centuries.
A stroll down the Shambles will take the visitor along what is often called Europe's best preserved medieval street, whilst the famous Jorvik Viking centre goes even further back in time. York Castle Museum is an amazing experience introducing visitors to everyday life from different eras. With many hidden gems in this vibrant city just waiting to be discovered and the outdoor pursuits on offer in the surrounding countryside, York makes a superb holiday destination.
