This quaint little cottage sits in the little coastal town of Marske-By-The-Sea, just half a mile from a sandy beach and has access from the garden to the park behind the cottage with outdoor gym area and children’s play area. Sleeping up to six, Salt Cottage is a lovely escape for a family looking to experience the North East coast.
Head through to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer, so you can easily conjure up a feast. Off the living room is a handy utility room with a washing machine, so you can easily pop your muddy clothes on a wash! Spend your down time in the lounge or conservatory, both equipped with ample seating, discussing the day’s events, or planning, or relax and watch TV or a DVD.
As the night grows darker, whisk away upstairs and choose between three tasteful bedrooms including a king-size with en-suite shower, a double room and bunk bedroom. Start your morning routine in the bathroom, choosing between a bath or walk-in shower, before preparing a coffee and sitting within the enclosed garden.
When you’re ready to explore, the village of Marske-By-The-Sea is home to a good selection of shops, bistros and pubs which cater for all the family, plus the sandy safe beaches just a short walk away are perfect for a day out. You can also take the cycle route to nearby Saltburn-by-the-sea, a lovely trail through countryside, allotments, and gardens by bike or on foot.
Other nearby attractions to add to your itinerary include Captain Cook’s birthplace, the Zetland Lifeboat Museum, Kirkleatham Museum and Walled Garden and the mining museum, whilst the stunning scenery of the North York Moors is nearby. If you fancy a walk through nature and some beautiful green spaces, Errington Woods is close by and Preston Park offers riverside walks, a children's adventure play area and a museum.
Or you can take in the sea air and walk along the beach to either Redcar or Saltburn and have refreshments along the way; there are also regular bus services to Middlesbrough and the historic town of Whitby, stopping at all the coastal resorts en-route. Salt Cottage is a wonderful escape, whatever time of year.

Originally an old fishing village, today it has a selection of local shops and pubs, which cater for all the family, plus the safe, sandy beaches, sand dunes and fishing boats are an enticing attraction. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum.
Within easy reach of this quaint village is a horse riding centre, the stunning scenery of the North York Moors, through which runs a steam railway line, and the numerous pretty inland villages and fishing villages including Staithes and Runswick Bay. The old Victorian spa town of Saltburn is just 3 miles away and it's an easy drive to other seaside resorts such as Whitby.
